The doorman, and how to use him.

The logo, the doorman illustrations, the doors and the colours are in one public repository. Use the illustrations freely, with credit. Use the name and logo to point to Napwake, unchanged.

01 The logo

One logo, always the same drawing.

The doorman’s head under his top hat, beside the drawn wordmark. The colour file goes on light grounds, the dark file on Night. Anywhere else, use one colour. Never redrawn, re-coloured or retyped.

02 The doorman

Eleven poses, each a real job.

He’s Napwake’s doorman, the part of Napwake that holds the first request to a paused workload while it wakes. On a public preview set to ask, he asks first. Those are the only jobs his captions give him. Everything else in these pictures is Napwake’s work. He has no name.

  • A twelfth?

A new pose shows a new real job. He’s drawn from numbers (lean, turn, lids, arms) by the brand’s rig, never traced, so he stays the same doorman.

    How he’s built

Use them anywhere, with this credit

The illustrations are under CC BY 4.0: in talks, posts, slides and stickers, even commercially, changed or not, as long as you credit them and link the repository.

03 The doors

Four states, read at a glance.

Every room is an arched door. Always put the state’s word beside its door. Colour is never the only signal.

  • Asleep· paused
  • Waking up· resuming
  • Awake· running
  • Needs you· needs attention

04 Trademarks

The name and the logo, in plain words.

“Napwake”, its logo and wordmark, and the doorman’s head as the logo uses it are trademarks. The code’s Apache 2.0 licence and the illustrations’ CC BY 4.0 don’t cover them. TRADEMARKS.md says how you may use them.

You may

  • Use the name to talk about Napwake, in articles, talks, tutorials, comparisons and videos.
  • Say your project works with Napwake: “for Napwake”, “works with Napwake”.
  • Use the logo, unchanged, to point to Napwake: on a slide, in a list of integrations, beside a link.

You may not

  • Use the name or logo in the name or logo of your own product, service, company or domain.
  • Change the logo’s shape, colours or proportions, or combine it with another mark.
  • Suggest Napwake endorses, sponsors or is part of something it isn’t.
  • Sell merchandise with the logo without asking first.

Forks

A fork is welcome. If you hand a changed build to others, give it a name of its own, so nobody mistakes it for Napwake.

Not sure? Open an issue in the brand repository and ask.
